My niece loves playing dress up, she has since she was three years old. Her favorite colors are pink and purple, which I believe is pretty normal for most little girls. When I was growing up my favorite color was red and then as I matured it some how turned into blue, I’ve never been a fan of the typical pinks and purples that are so popular for little girls.
Anyway she is a fan of Doodlebop and I have found some really great Doodlebops Costumes online today that I’m considering purchasing her to use as dress up and for the up and coming Halloween trick or treating. This particular costume usually runs almost $40, but is currently on sale for $15, that’s a nice deal there folks. I think that she will get a kick out of it or not, even if she doesn’t use it for Halloween. She has a trunk full of costumes and dress up clothes that she has collected through out the years. Her mother has done a good job keeping this young one’s creative juices flowing in many ways, I can give her that much. She is a pistol and I love her dearly. She has me (and plenty other relatives) wrapped right around her little girl finger!

I took my digital camera with me to the 4th of July fireworks display in town the other night. It was giving me some trouble, I was so disappointed because I really wanted to get some good shots of the spectacular firework display that we get to see just once a year around these parts.
The next day I fiddled around with it, put in a new battery, the whole ball of wax, but I couldn’t get it to cooperate. What a bummer, it wasn’t a cheap camera and I’m not too happy about having to dish more of my hard earned cash at this point, but I really enjoy and need a decent camera these days. Guess I start checking out some cameras online and see if I can find a good deal via the Internet. Lord knows I don’t feel like going from store to store in this heat!

For Father’s day I wanted to get my Dad a nice pair of men’s sunglasses. He has a habit of losing his sunglasses and is always needing a new pair, so I knew that he would appreciate a nice pair as a gift. At the mall there is a kiosk that sells only sunglasses, so I took a trip downtown to take a look and see what they had for sale in the line of mens sunglasses. OMG I couldn’t believe the prices they were asking. I mean I know that anything that you buy at the mall is going to be a bit more expensive, due to the overhead that is required by mall management, but there just has to be a limit some how where they aren’t taking so much of people’s hard earned money.
Anyway, that turned out to be a dead end, but I did get a good idea of some of the styles that are popular these days. So I took that information and went online and found a great website that had some great mens sunglasses at some pretty decent prices at menssunglasses.com and found some nice looking Aviator sunglasses for only $14.99. And since they offer free shipping for orders of $25 or more I ordered two pairs. They don’t even charge a sales tax, which is a bonus. At that price I could afford two pairs for my Dad to enjoy and since he loses them so quickly I’m sure two pairs won’t last long.
My order came in quickly, so I got them in time for Father’s Day and everyone ended up happy.

I try to find a good quality gift to give to my mother each Mother’s Day. And this holiday is fast approaching so I need to get off of it and start looking around for ideas. Having access to the Internet makes this task a much easier one, thank God! I look for companies that accept PayPal since I use my PayPal account a lot. I also look for free shipping, it’s all about the $$$ these days ya know?
I found some nice Seiko Kinetic Watches at Bluedial.com that are affordable and I think that my mother would enjoy. She is a tiny little thing so she can’t wear anything big and bulky, which can be a challenge at times, but I think that I have gotten used to that idea for a while now. This is a pretty sweet wrist watch that is on sale for only $110 and has free shipping as well. I’ve bookmarked it and will see how it all pans out.

My one sister is the type that has to have the best of everything for her kids. No hand me downs or seconds for her and her girls, must be nice, right? Most new mothers would love to receive anything that they can get their hands on for free. Babies and kids cost a good chunk of change and most of us are really hurting for money these days, but she and her husband are still fairing fairly well and so she just keeps on spending money like it was nothing.
Her middle daughter, Dawn, my favorite niece out of the bunch is having her 3th birthday party come March. The invitations have been sent out and the plans are being made to have a real nice party for her on her special day. We can only hope that the weather is much better then and we can enjoy the majority of the party outside. My sister is talking of having a clown and pony rides. You never know what to expect, weather wise, in the month of March and April, with all of the spring rain that comes each year, so we can only hope.
I have gone online to find some good gift ideas for Dawn’s birthday present. I have a few years experience buying clothing for her kids and one website loulouscorner.com I can always count on to have some of the most unique, stylish and trendy clothing available. They have brand names like jellycat, alex, haba, barefoot dreams, skip hop, appaman and wow toys that are just fabulous and affordable. They offer free shipping with orders over $65 and are currently having a sale with sales up to 75% off, so I should be able to find a few good deals in time to have them wrapped and ready to go by March.
