I wasn’t quite sure what my good friend was talking about in her latest email. She moved to Australia last year and we have kept our close relationship close via IMing and emails. She was talking about funeral funds nsw and income insurance in last week’s email. So I asked her to send me the link to which she was referring to. She is trying to find and purchase the best life insurance possible and is still fumbling around a bit in a country that is so foreign to her.
It took a lot of guts for her to move so far away from all of her family and friends and I have to give her credit for being so brave. I can’t imagine doing something so drastic like that, but would love to be given the chance cause I think that it would be very tempting indeed.
Since she is so far away she really wants to make sure that she has the best insurance possible and has been researching on the Internet to see what she can find online. Things are a lot different in the “Land Down Under” and it is becoming a challenge for her but I’m sure she will succeed given some time.

I promised my niece that I would take her to a Pow Wow over the weekend, the same one that I took her to last year. It’s a 2 hour drive over several mountains, but worth the time and effort. We left early this year in order to get there nice and early, to get good seats. Took a cooler full of cold drinks, a soft blanket and a tent for shade. We learned our lesson last year and wanted to come prepared this year.
It was a blast, but the temperature was in the high 90′s and we really were very miserable, along with the other several hundred people that attended. It didn’t end until 6:00pm but by 2:30 most people had left due to the heat and we headed out early as well. This heat wave has been horrible. I mean it is only June for heaven’s sake, not mid August!
Next year if the weather isn’t decent we won’t be attending. I’ll be looking for a Pow Wow that is held inside where we will be nice and comfortable in a controlled environment.

It can take a while to learn the right people and the right places to go to when you move to a new location. And the Welcome Wagon Lady doesn’t come knocking on your door these days. It seems that it got too dangerous for these ladies to be going out at night time hours. Isn’t that crazy?
Anyway, I am always looking for a good car repair and maintenance shop. There are so many rip off shops out there these days that it has me paranoid about taking my Toyota Corolla just anywhere. I have to have a new water pump put in my car this weekend and I want to go some where that is affordable and won’t rip me off. My two credit cards that I use for car repairs are maxed out so I’m not dependent on those places this time around. I use them as the last resort from time to time.
I found a cool website repairpal.com that seems useful to people dealing with car repair issues. I typed in “Chicago auto repair” and it came up with a boat load of auto repair shops in that area. Amazing how many shops there are these days. People will always need their automobiles up and running, so there will always be a need for their type of services.
Anyway, I want to have this pump issue done and over with. It is spring time and there is way too much to do on the weekends while the weather is nice, so I don’t want to have to deal with car repair issues that will keep me down while the going is good, ya know?

With the weather getting better and better with each passing day, I find myself anxious to spend more and more time outside lately. I had promised that I would start going for more walks when the weather broke so it looks like I’ve got some walking to do. I do want to go online and find a good pair of Shoes that would be good to walk in. I’m sure that I could find a good deal if I just took a little bit of time and did some searching some evening on my handy dandy laptop.
I have a pair of Sneakers that are still in good shape, but I’m not sure if I would be doing any justice to my feet, legs, back, etc buy wearing them that much. I might as well look for a good pair of Running Shoes while I’m at it. I don’t intend to keep walking for very long. I really want to start running again, but I have to start some where.
Buying shoe online doesn’t have to be a hassle. I found a great buying guide and plenty of tips for shoes online that I found to help set my mind at ease about ordering footwear via the Internet. I’m pretty good at finding good deals with reputable companies online. I’ll keep you posted………

I have always wanted a nice set of Hartmann Luggage or the ever popular Vera Bradley Luggage that looks so good on the luggage carousel at the airports at the end of the trip. Or at least if you are lucky enough to have your luggage arrive along with your arrival. I’ve never had my luggage lost before but I’ve heard some horror stories from folks that have had to deal with all the hassles and inconvenience of an airline losing your precious belongings that were being stored in your Luggage.
As I stated before I’ve always wanted to own a nice set of luggage and my mother is trying to make that happen for me for my birthday that is fast approaching this summer. My mother is expecting a nice sized tax refund from Uncle Sam this year and wants to purchase a few things that she has had her heart on for the past year. I’m just lucky enough to be on her buying list this year!
Of course I’m sure that if she finds herself in need of some nice luggage she can always count on being able to borrow mine any time she needs it. That is a plus!
